First, I am so sorry for my delay in posting this week's link up. As you probably know, John is working in Arkansas at a nuclear facility, and I'm visiting him for a few weeks. Last night we had severe weather, including destructive tornadoes that resulted in 16 fatalities in our area. There was much destruction, and we spent a portion of the evening in an underground bunker riding out the weather. Thankfully, we are OK and there was no damage to our fifth wheel. Others in our area did not fare so well. Please keep them in your thoughts.
Anyway.
You know, I try my best not to look forward to weekends. Instead, I try to enjoy every day instead of always looking forward. When I am always anticipating the next day, or weekend, I set myself up for disappointment like Clarke Griswold in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.
It's true. John tells me all the time that I set expectations so high, that it's hard to not be let down. He's right.
But it's kind of hard not to look forward to this weekend. John and I are heading to Memphis for the Beale Street Music Festival. We've gone the last 5 years, and always have a blast. The music is phenomenal, the food is always killer (of course we eat barbecue three meals a day, and I get the meat sweats), and we try to take in local sight or two.
Here's last year's recap, if you care to read about it.
One thing that will keep me grounded is reading all of your awesome posts from the last week. I am excited to see what you have to share!
Anyway, on to the party:
Mostly Homemade Mondays is a series for people that are on a journey to better living, via healthier eating and a more natural lifestyle. We realize that there are different paths that we all take to get to that place, and this bloghop celebrates that. Whether you’re a seasoned raw foodist who has banned all things unnatural, or a rookie who is starting out by cutting out junk food, we’d love to hear from you! Link up with your favorite recipes, projects, crafts, or rants and raves.
The Hosts:
