Tastefully Simple Garlic Garlic Knock-off

All of you food snobs out there might turn your noses at this statement, but I'm gonna say it anyway:

I love Tastefully Simple products!

They're quick, easy and tasty. Seriously. Love 'em. I really love the spices, like Garlic Garlic, Onion Onion, Seasoned Salt, Sun Dried Tomato Pesto, Tuscan Bread Dipping Mix, Garlic Infused Oil, etc., etc., etc. I could go on forever!

What I don't love, however, is the price and the unnecessary added ingredients. That stuff is costly, and we go through a lot of their products quickly. We also like to know exactly what is in our food. For us, it's just not cost effective to order some of their products when I can make nearly the same thing for a fraction of the cost and know there's no MSG or fillers.

One of the products I've been able to crack is the Garlic Garlic seasoning. It wasn't too difficult either: Tastefully Simple doesn't use as many scary ingredients, so by simply reading the label and trial by fire,  I was able to come up with a great alternative!

Without further ado:

In a small bowl, mix the following:

• 4 T. dried minced garlic
• 1 T. dried minced onion
• 1 t. sea salt
• 1 t. garlic powder
• 1/2 t. dried chives
• 1/2 t. dried dill
• 1/4 t. dried basil

Then, using a funnel and a spice shaker (like, ahem, your old Garlic Garlic shaker), pour in your new creation and use as you wish.

How do I use Garlic Garlic?

• With my homemade yogurt to make a salad dressing. 
• With my homemade yogurt or sour cream and a little mayo for a dip.
• As a seasoning in roasts, potatoes, anything...
