- 1 medium sized can of fruit cocktail, drained.
- Melt 1/2 ld. of marshmellows in 3/4 c. of milk and let cool.
- Whip 1/2 pint of whipping cream and fold into the marshmellow mixture. Then add fruit cocktail and 1/2 t. vanilla.
- For the crust, roll approximately 16 graham crackers and 6 tablespoons of melted butter. Line a pan, saving half of the crumbs and sprinkle on top after piuring in the filling. Let set in the fridge at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Vanilla wafers may be substitued for graham crackers, and no butter is needed for the vanilla wafers.
- PS - I use a lot more crackers and butter when I make my crust.
My cousin Danielle, Aunt Sharon's daughter, worked in a bakery for a while. Here's her recipe for Dirt Dessert, which she often brings to our summer family reunion and brought (due to multiple requests) to our family Christmas celebration.
Mix together:
- 2 - 8 oz containers of Cool Whip
- 2 packages of white chocolate pudding mix
- 2 c. of milk
- 1 package of crushed Oreo's
- Put into a fancy serving bowl and go to town! Kids will LOVE this!
Your website is really cool and this is a great inspiring article. Thank you so much.
