The part of this Monday that truly makes it "happy" is that John and I are working a short week. This is much needed for both of us. We plan to sleep in a bit, spend extra time in elastic-based clothing, and begin the packing process for our big move.
Remember, we're moving in about a month! Yikes. Let's not talk about it anymore. It's too bittersweet.
In this week's meal plan (which is sometimes a photo of our menu board in our kitchen, sometimes a screenshot of my Real Plans, sometimes a simple list with links to recipes), you'll find several homegrown or local item from our urban homestead. Of course, there will be a few repeats throughout the week since we try to eat in-season and lots of leftovers for lunch. Breakfast is usually a smoothie or steel cut oats; something that can be prepared quickly in the morning.
Monday - Tomato soup + grilled cheese (we didn't have this last week)
Tuesday - Sausage, egg, cheese sandwiches and a steamed veggie from the freezer
Wednesday - Picky plate, which is basically any sorts of veggies, cheese, cold cuts, and fruit that we cut up and put on a plate to share. I am not cooking a huge meal the night before we pig out.
Thursday - Happy Thanksgiving!
Friday - We're having a birthday party for my grandma. Bring.On.The.Cake.
Saturday - Thanksgiving leftovers, baby.
Sunday - Turkey pot pie
