So God Made a THESE Farmers.

Today, I want to do a little throw back to honor my family. This post was originally published in February of 2013, but since my family (and many, many other farm families) are currently in the height of planting season, I thought it would be appropriate to tribute the hard work of farmers this time of year.

Enjoy. And thank a farmer.

Did you watch the Super Bowl last month? What was your favorite Super Bowl commercial? Was it the Ram truck "So God Made a Farmer" commercial, featuring Paul Harvey?

If you haven't seen it yet, check it out:

This video makes me proud. Why?

Because I grew up the daughter of a farmer. My father grew up the son of a farmer. My family still farms today. They work tirelessly in the fields, doing work that is surely not glamorous. They lose sleep, depend on undependable Mother Nature, aim to be masters of several essential trades, and oftentimes get little-to-no appreciation for feeding hundreds of thousands of people around the world.

With honor I say that God made these farmers:

From left to right: Grandpa Steve, my brother - Ryan, our family friend - Leon, my mother - Jo,
my father - Dave, and Grandma Carol.

Over and out.

  1. I'd have to say, your farmers are the best! <3

  2. I too am a farmers daughter, thank god for farmers everywhere! What a great advert! Thank you soo much for sharing the link
