Purex No Sort for Colors review + GIVEAWAY!

Y'all know I'm frugal, right?

I am. Totally.

One example of this is when I am sending John off for his latest travels, I send a jug of my homemade laundry soap with him so he doesn't have to buy any on the road. Oftentimes John is gone for 3+ months for a single job, so depending on the nastiness of his laundry (which often tops the charts, folks) he might have to purchase laundry soap while he's away.

When I was asked to review Purex No Sort for Colors detergent, I knew it would be perfect for our unique situation. I decided to use Purex No Sort especially while traveling and living in our fifth wheel camper this spring.

Let me explain why this was ideal for 'tiny living'. Doing laundry while on the road is a bit of a hassle. We have limited space in our camper, so we don't pack a lot of clothing, and we have to do laundry regularly so dirty clothes don't take up precious room in the camper. Take a look at our 'laundry area':

This is the reason why we have to stay on top of laundry.

However, y'all know that laundromats are nasty, right? Is it just me? I feel like my clothes get clean and all, but I don't like sorting them out in the laundromat for the community to check out my underoos. Then, when my laundry is clean, I often just wad my clean clothes up and fold them when I get back to the camper so I don't have to fold my clothes in potentially dirty public place.

One product that has helped eliminate the sorting of the laundry at our trips to the laundromat is Purex No Sort. This detergent prevents color bleeding accidents and eliminates sorting of laundry! There's a dye transfer inhibitor in the detergent that prevents dyes from settling onto other fabrics. This means I can load up the machine with all of our dirty laundry, which cuts the number of loads in half and saves us time.

Not to mention, even John (and your husband, too!) can do the laundry without any crazy color bleeding accidents. So, off to the public laundromat I went:

Clearly the laundry 'shack' at this campground is only a few yards from our camper. This means I'm only stringing my dirty unders a short distance from our home on wheels.

And I'm happy to report that all of our laundry came out of the washer and dryer in great shape.

I am happy to keep this bottle of Purex No Sort for Colors in our camper so John can simplify his laundry routine. Because seriously, what person - especially a dude - wants to spend all day doing laundry?

  5. I would be lying if I said that I always sorted my husbands work clothes. I have no idea what he does to them, but they all go in one load, all at once, so they can't dirty up my clothes. I saw this at the store and thought about getting a bottle, because he complains his clothes get so dingy. I may have to pick up a bottle this weekend!

  6. I had to laugh because I used to make my own laundry detergent with Fels Naptha. It kind of looked like a thick oatmeal, but our clothes came out so clean. When I met my husband he said "where's the detergent?!" I pointed to the bucket on the floor with the plastic scoop in it and he almost threw up! He bought a big container of Tide and since I normally did all the laundry, as soon as that was used up, I went back to my homemade laundry - its been 13 years now and he still doesn't realize I haven't used Tide all these years!
