Spending Strike: Day 25 - I Got Myself a Part-Time Job. It's Official: I'm Nuts.

It dawned on me the other day that I will need to make arrangements for part-time work for the summertime. I don't know why, but it never crossed my mind that I am no longer a salaried teacher, and therefore will not be paid over the summer months like I was accustomed to. You see, I had the option to get my paychecks spread over 12 months, instead of being paid for the 10 months I actually worked. It was a pretty sweet deal, if you ask me.

Alas, I just remembered that I'd need to come up with a part-time job in the next few months, because I clearly won't be substitute teaching in the summer.

The employment gods must have been looking out for me, because the very next day I ran across a woman who is a single mother to five children. Five girls to be exact. She, as it turned out, was looking for an energetic, organized person to hire as a Mother's Assistant.

Enter yours truly.

I met with her about a week ago and we chatted for about an hour. She is seeking someone to help her with general house cleaning and deep cleaning projects, someone to watch her two youngest girls when she runs her older girls to activities, run errands, help her with computer work and filing, help her prepare meals, and {my favorite!} work in her garden this summer. I'd work with her one or two days a week.

Booya! Doesn't that sound like a perfect summer job?!

Mission accomplished.

Here are the numbers -

Money Spent Today: $0
Running Total: $75
Money We Didn't Spend: $0
