I hate my home office.

I hate my home office.

I know it might seem like an unfair statement, especially considering a loathe a lot of things at this moment. (Hello Iowa winter. Hello shitty weather. Hello seasonal affective disorder. My undies are really in a bunch right now, aren't they?)

Anyway, we shut off two rooms in our house in the winter time: Our spare bedroom and our home office. Those two rooms get little use, and by keeping the doors shut and the heat off in those two rooms we can really reduce our heating bills and amp up our energy efficiency.

The other day, I had enough. I felt cramped in our house, and I needed to open those two rooms up. Here's what greeted me in our home office:

A cold, drafty catch-all.

I really need to do something about this room. A plush rug, for starters. Perhaps curtains that are more airy.

And a clean desk that invites a person to...oh, I don't know...work at it.

I'm just in a really blah mood right now. I guess I don't hate my home office. I just don't like it's current condition. It's half finished, and you know me - I don't do well with half finished projects.

Looks like I know what I'll be doing next weekend.

Over and out.

  1. I understand how you feel. I believe that you really don't hate your office; you just need to vent out what you want to work on it. I hope you got everything fixed, Kelli. It might sound like a lot of work, but I believe you can finish everything in time, so that you'll get back into that good working mood again. I wish you all the best in your future endeavors. :)
