I know I'm preachin' to the choir when I say that it's the simple pleasures that really make life worth livin'.
Allow me to illustrate:
I ran out of dishwasher soap the other day. Not just any dishwasher soap, the good stuff that I splurge on: Dawn Action Packs with the blue Dawn dish soap swirled with the powder detergent. Hot damn, that stuff smells awesome when I fire up the dishwasher. The smell is intoxicating.
Literally.
If I breathe too deeply I get dizzy from the fumes.
No bueno, senora. That can't be healthy to breathe, let alone eat off of. So I decided to make my own dish soap.
Ok. I'm lying. The fumes didn't propel me to make my own dishwasher detergent.
I actually forgot to buy some earlier in the day when I went grocery shopping, and with the holiday mayhem in the stores I didn't want to venture back out.
So I Googled a few different recipes, and good 'ole Google delivered. I found a few recipes that I liked, then I modified them to fit my needs. The best part about this homemade dishwasher detergent is that a little bit goes a long way...
I love this stuff. Granted, I don't get the "clean" smell that I grew accustomed to, but I know this is made with less-toxic ingredients, and it's more friendly on my wallet and the environment. Try this, people. You'll love it too.
Over and out.
I really need to get on the ball and make some of this :) I'm buying the 7th generation stuff right now and it's 'spensive!
