Except my birthday isn't until June. And I don't want to wait that long to start the Project.
So I'm transforming it into The Christmas Project. I'll keep the premise the same: Doing good deeds for others. However, I'll change the number a bit - since Christmas is on the 25th, I'll do 25 good deeds in the month of December.
Here are some of the ideas I already have planned:
- Volunteer for a new task at the Humane Society
- Cookies for the ladies at our local gas station (John is a frequent flyer)
- $100 worth of non-perishable food items for a local shelter
- Sent thank you notes to two of my high school teachers
- Left some dog treats and a few tennis balls at the dog park
- Cookies to our police department
- Cookies to our fire department
- Cookies to our city workers at the recycling and composting centers (we have a lot of quality time together)
- Went to the local library and put $1 bills and a note in some of my favorite novels (especially the ones that I teach in English 11).
- Put quarters in the cart chains at Aldi's (there have been countless times where I have had to carry armloads of groceries to the checkout because I didn't have a quarter and no one
wantedwas able to share one with me.) - Took some board games to the Spinal Rehabilitation floor at the hospital where my brother recovered from his motocross accident.
...and I still have a few weeks to finish the list of 25 good deeds. Are there any you think I should add?
