Bruce, Manny, crispy grass and soaring temps.

We've reached the DOG DAYS of summer.

Get it? DOG days...     Anyway.

We all spend a lot of time outside, but it's HOT in the Midwest right now, people. I'm 27 years old, and I only remember one or two summers when I've perceived it to be as hot, humid, and dry as it is right now.

So far, the weather has put a slight damper on my garden, but it doesn't stop Manny and Bruce from enjoying their time at the dog park, on our walks, or in the backyard.

Manny loves to roll in the warm grass.

Bruce usually sniffs around the yard for quite some time before finding a spot in the shade.

Manny, on the other hand, can't get enough of rollin' in the grass.

Can you see how crispy our grass looks?

You'd be crazy to think that I'd waste money on watering my lawn. No way. Not. Gonna. Do. It.

You can even see the difference in the health of the lawn when you look at the shaded areas where Bruce likes to lay.

But after a while, even the happiest of dogs like to come inside for a little breather from the DOG DAYS of summer.
